With that being said, the Wolfpack currently don't exist in Rod's top 5 because they haven't offered.
"My top five would be Notre Dame, Michigan, Virginia, Clemson, and Syracuse. I also have offers from Duke and Navy."
Council was a camp standout this spring and it's led to the impressive offer list above. He performed well at the NIKE camp in Blacksburg and the Shrine Bowl combine held in Charlotte.
"I did good at the camps and it helped me a lot with schools recruiting me. I'm glad I went."
The in-state schools, NC State and North Carolina, are currently evaluating Rod, and he camped with both programs.
"They are both looking at me but haven't offered. I camped with them and liked each of the camps. State's camp was more drill-oriented and I did good, but the UNC camp was more competitive and I played even better."
"Carolina has good academic programs and is really a place I can play early at. Schools asking me to red-shirt I don't like too much because I feel I can play early anywhere."
"State's just a nice school that I've been to a few times. They have a good team and also my major."
Speaking of majors and academics, Council currently has a 4.0 GPA and already has achieved his qualifying score on the SAT. He wants to be an engineering major in college and those close to him will play a part in where he goes to school.
"I am qualified and want to major in engineering. I'm going to sit down with my coach towards the end of the summer and figure out which field of engineering I want to go into."
"My grandma and coaches want me to go to a good school and will help me out, but I think when it's time to choose they'll leave it up to me."
Don't look for Rod to make a quick decision, even if an NC State offer comes in, because he wants to take his time and some visits.
"Yea, even if State offered I would probably still wait because I want to take all my visits. I'll annouce sometime around January or February."
