Evtimov Coming Back to the Table

N.C. State's Ilian Evtimov has had a tough road back from ACL surgery, but can't wait to hit the hardwood. <P> The News and Record's Tim Peeler catches up with "Shoush" for an interview.

Greensboro News and Record: Evtimov Coming Back to the Table

"Without a true point guard last year, Sendek was counting on Evtimov's basketball savvy to run the Wolfpack offense, using his acute passing skills to get the ball to Julius Hodge, Josh Powell and Marcus Melvin.

In the last two months of his freshman season, he became a master at making the backdoor passes that made the Wolfpack offense so hard to defend. Those skills were only improved when Evtimov spent last summer playing for the French junior national team, where he was a starting power forward with recent first-round NBA picks Mickael Pietrus and Boris Diaw. Evtimov averaged 11.5 points and 4.5 rebounds for the team, which finished third in the European tournament."
