Pack Offers Wright

NC State has offered and is in great shape with Woodbridge (VA) Hylton standout Chasz Wright. Pack Pride has the latest on his top schools and thoughts on the Wolfpack.

Pack Pride has talked about NC State's desire to take at least one more offensive lineman in the class of 2013. While the Wolfpack has had an offer out to West Philadelphia (PA) offensive tackle Jaryd Smith-Jones for a couple of months, they recently extended an offer to another tackle prospect just in the past week.

Pack Pride caught up with Woodbridge (VA) Hylton standout Chasz Wright over the weekend and he confirmed that he has picked up an offer from NC State. But that's not the only big news the tackle had to report.

"I've got offers from NC State and Penn State," Wright said.

Wright told us he picked up the offer from NC State a little while back actually. He said the Wolfpack offered him before Hylton's first scrimmage. The Penn State offer was more recent but also more expected.

"I was really excited when I found out about the NC State offer," he said. "I've never been down there but me and my family are talking about trying to get down there. I don't know whether it will be before school starts. If it's not then we'll have to squeeze it in sometime early in the season.

"I've never been down there but just from watching them on TV some last year I was impressed with their offense and defense. It looks like they have a lot of athletes flying around the ball.

"I talked to Coach Willis, who I believe is the defensive line coach. He told me they had seen my film and they saw some good things they feel like they can work with."

What does the 6-6, 280-pound lineman think about Penn State?

"I had been on their radar for a while. I know they had evaluated me so I'm not really sure why it took so long for them to offer," he said. "I camped up there and I know I did really good. I think because they're losing so many people they're looking for some guys to take some spots."

While he hasn't eliminated Penn State from consideration, he did mention that Texas Tech and NC State are his leaders.

"Texas Tech is still up there at the top too," said Wright. "They've been talking to me for a while but it's been a little off and on lately because they're in training camp. They have told me they like me and will think about offering."
