PC: Johnson, Allen Meet The Media

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Junior defensive back Dontae Johnson and senior guard Zach Allen met with the media today to discuss South Alabama.

Zach Allen

"It's paying attention to detail and keying on what we have to do collectively."

"It's something we're going to work on."

"He's understanding, and he knows it's tough being an offensive lineman."

"We definitely did want to come out and run the ball, and once again, that's one of those communication things... not clicking together. That's one of the things we've got to work on this week."

"Looking at the film, there is a lot that everyone who played can see where they can improve."

"That's a great feeling, just being back in front of our fans with someone actually backing us up."

"We have some of the best fans in the nation and just having them here with us is an amazing feeling."

"Tyson is a great player. He's still young and he's still learning. Like everyone else, there's a lot we can learn from the film. He's a good guy. I know he'll bounce back from the game."

"Watching film, we know they've improved from last year."

"It's all in the preparation for the week."

"It's understood that being on the two-deep you're always one play away from playing."

"It's a lot easier [at home]. You can hear."

Dontae Johnson

"The move to corner has been great. My teammates have been behind me, the coaches as well. It's been a great transition so far."

"Our coaches preach about creating turnovers on defense to help our offense out, and by doing so gives us the whole team more confidence and motivation throughout the game."

"Creating turnovers is one of our key factors on defense."

"Earl means a lot. He's been here, he's started a lot of games here at State, and he's real vocal at practice, during meetings, the offseason. As a defensive back we look up to him."

"We got the nerves out the first game, Tennessee, Georgia Dome, big game."

"We were able to get back to the basics, play more base defense, and we were relaxed. Everyone on the defense was relaxed."

"We had a better week of practice and it showed.'

"I'm pretty sure it was a tough week for him against Tennessee, but he's a humble guy. He stayed humble throughout practice preparing for UConn, and it showed."

"I'm just really blessed to be able to understand what coaches ask of me."

"It's been a pleasure to be able to play pretty much every position in the secondary here at State."

"We're trying to get back to where we were last year in creating turnovers."
