PC: Dowdy, Glennon Meet The Media

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State's Rickey Dowdy and Mike Glennon met with the media today to discuss Saturday's game against The Citadel.

Mike Glennon

"They've beat two recent I-AA champs."

"We're definitely taking them very serious, but at the same time we're going to focus on ourselves like we did last week."

"With their offense, the fact that they run the ball a lot and put up a lot of points on the teams they've played. We know as an offense we want to stay on the field."

"[Quintin Payton] has been a guy where you kind of throw it up there and he makes plays... I think he's done a great job and I think he's been the leader of the wide receivers. I think he's holding himself to a high standard."

"I've thrown to them all summer and all spring and I knew what they were capable of doing."

"In the first half I think we played really well."

"The offensive line is going to work hard. We're going to clean up any mistakes that we had."

Rickey Dowdy

"It's going to be real fun. We have to play a lot of contain and know our assignments. We can't go out there and do whatever we want to. We have to play assignment football."

"The main thing is they can always break a long run... a split second of being in the wrong place at the wrong time."

"We have to stay where we are supposed to be."

"You have to have a short memory. You can't hang on to the last play... you have to forget about it and keep playing."

"The coaches are going to have a great gameplan for us and put us in the right positions to make plays. We just have to go out there and make them."

"We have to stay focused when it comes to the fourth quarter. That's basically when the game is won."

"I looked up to those guys that played ahead of me like Nate, Terrell, and Audie. They taught me a lot of things."

"There is learning still do for everybody... we know what needs to be done."
