Jalen McDaniel isn't going out of his way to court other schools, but that hasn't stopped them from trying to make a late play.
Two ACC schools have shown renewed interest in McDaniel and a coaching change has presented the perfect opportunity to test the waters and reach out to the Wolfpack commitment.
It's true that McDaniel was blindsided by the news of Tom O'Brien's firing. But it's not as though he opened things back up.
"It's a shocker but you've got to move on. I committed to a school, not a coach," McDaniel said. "I've heard (Doeren) is a great coach. He's supposed to have great energy and that's about what I know. Not having talked to him I can't say too much."
Pack Pride asked McDaniel whether he's still on board and he responded that he is. He would not rule out other visits however.
"Right now I'm still solid but I'm still talking to Virginia Tech and North Carolina. I don't know if I'm going to visit them though. I'm still talking about it with my parents. It's something I've got to think about.
"I know I might go to a bowl practice at State if there's another one. I don't know about my official (visit)."
The Jack Britt receiver had 827 receiving yards and nine touchdowns on 37 total catches this year. He helped lead the Bucs to the state 4-AA state championship game and finished with six catches for 92 yards, including a 42 yard touchdown reception.
