He's still committed to NC State but there are real questions about whether he will end up with the school in February.
Danville (VA) George Washington tight end Chris Burton has met with Dave Doeren and since committing to NC State earlier in the year, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that he would be joining the Pack next year.
Now it's not so clear. In fact it might best be termed as a coin flip.
"It's like 50/50 at this point. Most likely I'll open everything back up once I take my visits," he said.
Recently Burton announced that he was open to interest from Texas Tech, a school that had been recruiting him before he committed. Now that Tommy Tuberville has left Lubbock for Cincinnati he's talking to the Bearcats.
"As of right now I have it opened back up to other colleges so I can talk to some coaches," Burton said.
Tuberville was a big reason for Burton's interest in the Red Raiders. Now that he's moved to the Big East he's still got a shot at Burton.
"I'm talking to Vanderbilt as well," Burton said. "They had offered me before I made my decision. They just wanted to let me know they were still there and that the offer still stands especially after Coach O'Brien left. Most likely I'll take some official visits but I have no idea when."
