Wood: "We Have To Step Up"

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State senior guard Scott Wood talks about today's game with Miami.

"We've been around the block a couple of times. You don't think I don't get mad at Richard or Zo? I guarantee you that I hold them just as accountable as I hold myself."

"I get on Tyler because I think he should bring the ball up and get in the right positions sometimes. That doesn't make it a big deal. You're just trying to make a point and you're trying to make a coaching thing. He just listens to it and moves on to the next play. That's all it is."

"We just have to step in there, Tyler and Rodney both have some point guard experience and they need to do a good job like I know they are capable of doing."

"Obviously if Zo doesn't play it's going to be a big hurt for us, but at the same time I feel like we have players that can step in and contribute in his absence."

"They are experienced. They've been around the block a couple of times. They play physical. We've just got to go out there and play our game. Homecourt has been generous to us this year so we just have to go out there and compete."

"They have a lot of players that come in and can contribute for them. You have to respect everybody because everybody can knock down a jumpshot and score the ball."

"They don't really have a weak spot where you can maybe help off more than usual. You've just got to guard everybody straight up and execute on the defensive end."

"It's a big game for us because we let a couple slip away that we probably should have got."

"We have to step up and answer the challenge."

"I guarantee that Miami is coming in here as the hunter. They are not really thinking they are the hunted. They all know what we were ranked at the beginning of the year and everyone is going to give us their best game."
