Recruiting Scene: Paul was a late addition to the NC State recruiting board mainly because he was brought over from Dave Doeren's time at Northern Illinois. Paul had built a very strong relationship with Doeren and some other members of his staff which put State in a good position leading up to their official visit.

Although he boasted numerous offers, Paul's final three boiled down to Wake Forest, Louisville and NC State. Clearly a priority for the Wolfpack, State landed him and teammate Dravious Wright during their official visit in January.

Despite late interest from Miami, Paul stayed solidly committed to NC State.

Why NC State? "I was excited about the whole situation at NC State, so I committed on the spot. I was thinking about going home and thinking about it, but I knew it was the perfect spot for me."

Picked NC State Over: Wake Forest, Louisville, Kentucky and others

Scouting Report: Paul is an outstanding cover corner with fierce tackling skills. He comes up and supports against the run and shows strong safety toughness. He has the size and athleticism for the cornerback position at the major level of competition. We like his playing speed and strength and it appears his frame is capable of supporting additional bulk over time. He is a tough customer who is a very good open field tackler. He hits like a linebacker and shows the ability to block punts and field goals and PATs off the edge. - ESPN
