Recruiting Scene: There were early offers from Duke, Wake Forest and East Carolina to go along with late interest from Miami for Robinson. However, NC State was his dream school although it appeared for much of the year that the Pack would not look in his direction.

Things took a dramatic swing after the Pack's win over Wake Forest back in November, however. Accompanied by brother Terrell Manning, Robinson was told by the coaches after the game that he had an offer from State. Robinson wasted not time in committing.

That commitment was thrown into doubt a couple of weeks later when Tom O'Brien was fired. Initially it appeared Robinson would visit Duke and possibly some other schools but after meeting new head coach Dave Doeren, Robinson decided to remain committed to the Wolfpack and never followed through with those visit plans.

Why NC State? "I just loved everything about State- the fans, the coaches and just the game experience. It was just a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of the Wolfpack so I pulled the trigger."

Picked NC State Over: offers from Wake Forest, Duke and East Carolina

Scouting Report: Robinson has the frame to ultimately project at any of the three linebacker spots once he arrives at NC State. Where he ultimately ends up will depend in large part as to how he progresses physically.

On the field, Robinson shows good instincts and is a fundamentally-sound football player. He doesn't have great speed but is efficient with little wasted movement and takes good angles to the ball. Robinson has solid tackling skills but will need to improve out in space. He may be best suited for middle linebacker but again, that will depend on how he fills out. - Pack Pride recruiting analyst Steve Williams
