Recruiting Scene: Nichols recruiting was fairly quiet and simple. NC State was his first major offer and in May of 2012, he pulled the trigger on his commitment to the Wolfpack. Despite the coaching change, Nichols never wavered and remained solid to State throughout.

Why NC State? "Me and my family talked about it and we felt like it was the best decision for me. Also, they have great academic standards and a great football team and it's close to home. The coaches made me feel at home when I was on the visit so it was just a great fit."

Picked NC State Over: offer from Air Force and interest from Duke and Wake Forest

Scouting Report: NC State RB commit Dakwa Nichols definitely impressed and you can tell his quickness is simply on another level. He runs very close to the ground and is cuts are extremely sharp and all that should be setting the table for a big year at Richmond County in 2012. The running back's coach for the Shrine team told us Nichols had a different gear than most of the other running backs in the state.- Pack Pride recruiting analyst Steve Williams
