Recruiting Scene: Dayes committed to NC State in the summer as an unranked recruit, but by the time the Wolfpack coaching staff was fired he had emerged as a major target for other programs.

Vanderbilt was in the mix quickly, and programs like Arkansas, Tennessee, and Miami extended offers in January. However, new Wolfpack head coach Dave Doeren, assistant Des Kitchings, and offensive coordinator Matt Canada vigorously pursued Dayes, and he re-committed in late January.

Why NC State? "It was just a gut feeling I had about NC State. I fell in love with it from the very beginning and it was just in my heart that that was where I wanted to go."
