The Pack is still in contention for Danville (VA) George Washington tight end Chris Burton and Saint Petersburg (FL) Lakewood wide receiver Marquez Valdes, and both will be announcing their decisions on Wednesday.
Burton, who had committed to the previous coaching staff before opening back up his recruitment, is still considering Cincinnati and NC State. The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder will be deciding Wednesday morning.
Valdes, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound wide receiver, has narrowed his list to Houston, NC State, Arkansas, South Florida, and Missouri. He will be announcing his decision at noon at Lakewood High School.
NC State is closing the recruiting season with a bang, and just recently secured verbals from all five uncommitted prospects that visited over the weekend. They included: quarterback Bryant Shirreffs, defensive tackle Monty Nelson, junior college offensive lineman Ali Kassem, wide receiver JuMichael Ramos, and West Virginia wide receiver transfer Travares Copeland.
The Wolfpack has three recruits who enrolled in January: New Bern (NC) athlete Bra'lon Cherry, Mocksville (NC) Davie County offensive lineman Cole Blankenship, and Florida quarterback transfer Jacoby Brissett.
Signing day kicks off Wednesday morning and the letter of intents will be coming in throughout the day. At 3:30, Dave Doeren will hold his first National Signing Day press conference, where he will give his thoughts on NC State's 2013 recruiting class.
Will he announce the signatures of Burton and Valdes? Stay tuned...
