NOTES: Wood Sets Record

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Here are some postgame notes from NC State's 90-86 win over Virginia Tech in PNC Arena.

  • Senior Scott Wood made his 126th career start versus Virginia Tech.

    He is now the program's all-­time leader, eclipsing the former mark of 125 held by Julius Hodge (2002-­05).

  • Wood also moved into the ACC's top-­10 for career 3-­pointers with his fourth made triple of the day at the 6:03 mark in the second half.

    Wood was also fouled on the play, making the free throw to complete the four-­point play.

    He now has 299 career threes, pulling within 23 of Rodney Monroe's program-­best 322.

  • Senior Richard Howell is now fifth all-­time in rebounding with 951 boards, passing John Richter (936) on the career list.

  • Howell also notched his 15th double-double of the year and the 27th of his career with his 10 points against the Hokies.

  • Junior Lorenzo Brown collected his 500th career assist at the 12:27 mark of the second half on Wood's 3-­pointer.

    Brown is the ACC's active career leader with 505.

  • Freshman Tyler Lewis scored in double figures for the third time in the last four games.

  • The Pack improved to 36-­14 all-­time versus the Hokies.

    State's winning percentage (72.0) against Virginia Tech is the highest among its ACC opponents.

  • This was NC State's first overtime game this season and its first overtime win at home since defeating Miami, 84-­81, on Jan. 27, 2009.

    The Pack's last overtime game came at Clemson on Feb. 25, 2012 (L, 72-­69).
