Until recently Garrett Bradbury was a sleeper by every definition of the term as it relates to recruiting.
Now the Charlotte Christian tight end has offers from Charlotte and Colorado State. NC State knows all about him as well.
The 6-3, 240-pound junior started for the varsity team last year and he's being recruited for offense as well as defensive end and long-snapper. He visited NC State a couple of weeks back for the Wolfpack's junior day.
"I loved it," said Bradbury. "The facilities were awesome. We got there at 11 (a.m.) and ate lunch. We toured the facilities a little bit and went to the basketball game then continued on to the weight room."
On the way to the basketball game Bradbury was able to talk to a couple of coaches briefly.
"I talked to coach Doeren a little bit and coach Faulkner in the meeting room. Coach Faulkner really emphasized the need they have for tight ends right now. They didn't sign any and they only have five up there right now. Two are seniors.
"I was mainly getting acquainted with coach Doeren."
Bradbury had been to NC State before. He was at the school for a summer baseball tournament last year. This was his first chance to visit the school as a football recruit.
After the trip, Bradbury said that State really moved up in his eyes and will be a school that he'll be following closely over the coming months.
"NC State's definitely up there. I really like them and how they're going to incorporate their tight ends."
