Workpeh Kofa put up big numbers at Charlotte Independence last year and he could be closing in on his first offers.
Kofa scored 10 touchdowns and was responsible for 700 of his team's receiving yards. When you put up numbers like that at a program as visible as Independence you are bound to be noticed.
At 6-1, 185 pounds Kofa considers himself more of a possession-type receiver. On the recruiting side, he says a couple of in-state schools are currently out front.
North Carolina and Duke are standing out now, according to Kofa himself. But part of that is because he has visited those schools and knows more about them than others.
Charlotte has offered him but Kofa isn't sure if he wants to stay that close to home.
"It's alright but I've been thinking about whether I want to stay in Charlotte or leave and I think I want to leave," Kofa said. "I grew up liking UNC mainly because of their basketball. I started playing basketball first. I've been up there once and their head coach and receivers coach came to our school.
"I visited Duke and I liked the campus. I've been up there and I've seen everything. It's nice and small and they are showing a lot of interest."
Kofa has never been to NC State but that's a trip he wouldn't mind taking.
"I've been talking to one of their defensive coaches. We've talked a few times. I don't know that much about them yet but I would like to visit them too. I've been talking to them but want to find out more," he said.
