East Carolina is the only school that has offered B.J. Hill so far but the Pirates will have to fight off several other schools before long.
NC State could be next in line to offer, according to the 6-3, 256-pound defensive lineman from Oakboro (NC) West Stanly. He visited the Wolfpack more than a week ago so he has a pretty good feel for where the coaches stand.
The trip coincided with the annual photo shoot in Raleigh and Hill wanted to take advantage of the opportunity by visiting NC State.
There was the usual campus and facility tour, as well as the basketball game.
"The facilities were really nice and they may be getting an indoor practice facility so that will be really nice," Hill said.
The coaches had a brief chance to speak with Hill even though there were a lot of other recruits on campus. Dave Doeren and the assistants told Hill they like him as either a defensive end or a tight end.
Hill plays defensive end and linebacker for West Stanly.
"I just like defense. I like getting to the ball so I'm really everywhere on the field. Wherever you need me, I'm there," he said.
He missed a lot of action last year because he dislocated his knee early in the season. Hill was able to return for the last two games of the season and he's back to full health now with a bright forecast for his senior season.
NC State isn't the only school Hill has visited lately.
"I went up to East Carolina for their junior day when I got offered. It's pretty nice up there too but I'm keeping my options open. I've been to Carolina and Duke too."
