"It was good to be back on the field. It's a starting point for sure. We've got a lot of work to do, but I kind of expected that."

"There were definitely some high points. You watch the film, you look at the good, the bad, and the ugly. You try to get it better the next time you come out."

"I was excited about it. You sign up to be a coach to do that, to coach, not sit behind a desk. There are a lot of things that go into the job, but obviously this is your favorite part of the job. It was fun to be back on the field with the players today."

"I'm not a guy that likes to make comments about things until I see the film. I'll try to learn as much as I can without pads being on. It's a process. It will take a few days to really have a handle on where we are at."

"I try to help out where I can, but at the same time I don't want to be in the way. I'll be very involved on special teams, and I'll be an integral part of coaching those techniques. On offense and defense I'll jump in where I can help out."

"There has been a lot of excitement. I'm proud of the players for their work ethic. They showed up today with great attitude. They are still learning what we want from them too. That part of the growing process will be constant for probably three or four more practices and then it will become more routine for them."

"Football is no different than any other foreign language. We all speak it a little differently. They are picking up the nuances of the offenses, defenses, special teams."
