Upper Marlboro (MD) Henry Wise's Micah Till has a couple of offers but he has just one school on top right now.
With offers from NC State and Temple maybe it shouldn't be a big surprise that the Wolfpack leads for Till. It's noteworthy nonetheless and especially on the heels of a trip to Raleigh.
Till attended NC State's most recent junior day, which also gave him the chance to watch the 2013 edition of the Wolfpack football team hard at work.
He showed up a little late but Till was still able to see most of the practice and meet with the coaches afterwards. They gave him a tour of the facilities and he had a chance to become more familiar with the Wolfpack coaching staff.
"My recruiting coach for my area is Coach McNutt and he was there. I spoke to the head coach and of course the tight ends coach because that's the position I play. I spoke to all of them. It was great seeing them because we communicate over Facebook most of the time. We're on good terms."
Till is a bigger-than-average tight end (6-6, 270 pounds) that some have penciled in as an offensive lineman but schools have not told him to anticipate a positional change yet.
Having seen the school and interacted with the coaches in person Till is ready to name a favorite.
"Right now I think that's the school I'm most interested in because of the facilities and the coaches combined. And the education. That's really intriguing to me. Of course I'm still open to other schools," he said.
Till is also intrigued by the offensive balance Dave Doeren is striving for. He said the coaches told him they want to be a 50-50 run-pass team and that kind of system will allow him to develop into a balanced player and show off all of his talents.
He also visited Duke over the weekend but only stayed in Durham for about 90 minutes to watch their practice and speak with David Cutcliffe.
