Decatur (GA) Columbia offensive lineman Terronne Prescod may be one of the most versatile linemen in the southeast. He's played center and guard the last two years and will transition to offensive tackle for 2013.
At 6-4, 300 pounds, Prescod has good feet and a nasty disposition on the field and that's landed him double digit scholarship offers including NC State, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Wake Forest, Louisville and Missouri among others.
The rising senior had an opportunity to visit NC State this past weekend and he came away impressed with what he saw. Prescod talked about the trip with Pack Pride.
"We had a chance to check out the different levels of the stadium," said Prescod. "We went to the library and looked at the campus and it was real good. I was really impressed with that library. You can type in what book you want and there's a machine that goes and gets the book for you."
NC State has let Prescod know that they are in immediate need of offensive linemen with the opportunity of early playing time.
"Coach Nielsen is recruiting me. He tells me that they have a real big need for offensive linemen. They have two linemen that are supposed to be leaving next year so there's a very good opportunity for me to start my freshman year."
The spring has been a busy time for Prescod and he recalled some of the schools that have swung by to check on him.
"Right now I've got about 20 offers. There's been a lot of schools that have come by to check on me. Some of the more recent ones were NC State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Wake Forest, Duke, Florida State, Marshall and a few others. It's great to know all these schools are interested in me."
Prescod hopes to make a few more visits over the summer and if things works out, plans to make a decision over the next couple of months.
"I'm going to a couple of camps this summer but I definitely plan to make my decision before my senior season."
So where does NC State fit in?
"Well, after that visit, they're definitely one of my top schools. I would say my top schools are Louisville, NC State, Georgia Tech, Missouri, Ole Miss, Virginia and Wake Forest. I don't have a favorite. I'm really open.
"I'm trying to come back to State during the summer and I will probably take an official visit there, too."
Prescod is rated a three star prospect and the No. 48 offensive guard in the nation by Scout.com.
