Tuscaloosa (AL) Hillcrest linebacker Keith Holcombe starts his summer camp and visit tour this week and it will take him to Raleigh.
However, before he makes the trek north to Raleigh, the 6-3, 210-pound linebacker will first camp with the hometown Crimson Tide in the hopes of landing an offer from the defending national champs.
After camping at Alabama, Holcombe will embark on a whirlwind tour of various colleges.
"After (the Alabama camp) I'm going to Georgia Tech on Saturday and I'm going straight from there to NC State. Then the following week I have a Vandy camp and visit and then I hit a lot of camps."
Holcombe's profile has never been stronger and his recruitment has really taken off. While he will be visiting many of the schools that are pushing him to commit Holcombe does not expect to end the process in the next few weeks.
In fact he plans to take some official visits. These summer visits might best serve to tell him where he ought to take those officials.
Holcombe said he is not sure what to expect from NCSU.
"I've been in contact with them a lot recently. Me and Coach Huxtable talk on pretty much a weekly basis. He's told me it's great and a great atmosphere. The campus is supposed to be great. I know me and my family are going up there this coming weekend just for a visit."
In addition to NC State, Holcombe holds offers from Georgia Tech, Southern Miss, Kentucky and Tulane among others.
