Kenric Young doesn't know how productive NC State's offense will be this fall but he thinks in the future the Pack will be putting up plenty of yards and points.
Based on what the coaches are telling Young, he's interested. He has also looked into what the coaches did at their previous stops and is impressed with their track records.
Young plans to visit State on June 17 or18 and he will learn more about the school then.
"I like the offense. The offense is a spread, balanced offense. It's made for receivers to make plays. I know Coach White speaks highly of me as a guy that can come in and make plays for them. He says I'm one of the highest receivers on their list."
The Gainesville (FL) receiver has never visited NC State but one of his former teammates did and gave the school a good review.
"They offered one of our players two years ago (Chris Bivins) and he liked his official visit there. He's at South Florida now but he liked it there and told me it's good. I've heard it's a nice place there in Raleigh. It's a pretty nice environment for a young college student.
"You got other colleges around. North Carolina's up the road and Duke's right around the corner. It's a pretty nice place I hear."
Young said he and his mother are discussing what other schools they want to visit this summer. That has been a difficult decision because he said he does not have a shortened list of favorites.
"I don't have any favorites yet but I can tell you NC State is high on the list."
Young said he is happy with the offers he has but he does want to camp at Florida to see if he can earn an offer from the Gators. His plan is to make a decision right after his first game of the season.
As a junior, Young had 32 receptions for 567 yards and seven touchdowns. He is currently rated a three-star prospect and the No. 96 wide receiver in the nation by Scout.com. Young holds offers from NC State, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Nebraska and Purdue among others.
