Boone Planning to Visit NC State

Palm Beach Gardens (FL) Dwyer safety Shawn Boone plans to visit NC State later this month.

Shawn Boone has a few visits in mind that he would like to take and one is to NC State.

It's been a very good year for Boone, from the offers he picked up weeks ago to the more recent offers, such as the one from Ohio State last month.

Content with his offer list as it stands today, Boone is now trying to determine which schools he wants to visit.

"I'm trying to get up to NC State and I'm trying to get up to Tennessee. I'm going to Ole Miss and Mississippi State maybe between June 26 and June 30 so probably the 27th and 28th. I'm going to Ohio State and Arkansas too. I know all that."

The Palm Beach Gardens (FL) Dwyer safety said he has no favorite's list and has not eliminated any schools from consideration. In other words he's not ready to say too much that would be groundbreaking but he does admit NC State has made a nice impression.

"I talk to Coach McNutt and Coach Doeren and it's a really good staff. Coach Doeren is a real good coach who gave me my first offer from NIU. I got a full scholarship from them as a sophomore. It was a pretty good relationship before he went to NC State. Coach McNutt's a real cool dude too."

As Boone has mentioned before the presence of former teammate Jacoby Brissett on the roster is likely to be a net plus but not a decisive or determining factor in NC State's favor. He has not had much contact with Brissett recently.

Boone is rated a three-star prospect and the No. 93 safety in the nation by He holds offers from NC State, Florida State, Boston College, Tennessee, Ohio State and West Virginia among others.
