NC State has been one of the hottest teams in the nation on the recruiting trail of late but the Wolfpack is nowhere near being done and they still have several big time prospects on the board.
One of the biggest is Decatur (GA) Columbia offensive lineman Terronne Prescod. The Wolfpack has been high on his list for weeks and he was able to make his second trip to Raleigh last weekend. Prescod talked about the visit with Pack Pride.
"I got a chance to talk to a couple of NC State's commits, Tony Adams and B.J. Hill. Everything has been really cool. It seems like they want to get everything turned around and win a national championship."
For weeks it has appeared that NC State and Auburn have been the two schools to beat and that certainly seems like a safe bet even now. So how does Prescod view the Wolfpack compared to the Tigers?
"They're pretty much the same way. I like the facilities (at State). I like the coaching staff. The fan base, it seems like a family environment. It's like a family vibe and they really care. I also have a better chance of starting, and that's pretty important to me."
Prescod says he has two visits scheduled over the coming weeks and the plan has been to commit after those trips are complete.
"I will be at NC State next Saturday (June 29). I'm supposed to go to Auburn the July 8th weekend. I should make a decision after the Auburn visit or it could be before."
So, if the visit to NC State goes well is there a chance Prescod could decide prior to the Auburn visit?
"Yes, it's a good chance."
Although State and Auburn lead the field, Prescod added that he still has five schools he's considering.
"My top five would be Ole Miss, Missouri, Georgia Tech, NC State and Auburn."
Prescod is rated a three-star prospect and the No. 43 offensive guard in the nation by Scout.com.
