The 2013 Atlantic Coast Conference Football Kickoff will be held July 21-22 at the Grandover Resort located in Greensboro, N.C.
Smith, a 5-foot-9, 175-pound redshirt senior wide receiver from Dublin, Georgia, was arguably the Wolfpack's top offensive player in the spring and received rave reviews from head coach Dave Doeren.
He totaled eight catches for 84 yards in the Kay Yow Spring Game.
"He's a playmaker and he's hungry and he's got a chip on his shoulder," Doeren said of Smith. "Those things usually equal what you want: production. I haven't seen anything that we've asked him to do that he hasn't been able to do yet -- knock on wood. I hope he keeps going that way.
"I like the guy, man. I wish I had a lot more guys that understood how important it is to practice and play the way he does with the energy he has every day."
He totaled 19 catches for 315 yards and five touchdowns last season. Smith is currently listed as the starter at the "Z" position, and he is also one of the ACC's top returning specialists.
Johnson, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound senior cornerback from Pennington, New Jersey, is regarded as the Wolfpack's leader in the secondary.
He, like Smith, is also a member of the Wolfpack's Leadership Council.
"Dontae is not a "rah-rah" guy," said NC State strength coach Jason Veltkamp. "But from the start I've been able to go to Dontae and say, "hey, pull this guy aside and tell him we need him, we need him to make better decisions," and Dontae is great for doing that."
Johnson moved to cornerback in 2012 where he played all 13 games and totaled 70 tackles, six tackles for a loss, eight pass breakups, two quarterback pressures, a forced fumble, and a sack.
All 14 ACC teams will be represented by two players and a head coach at the 2013 ACC Football Kickoff. Here is a complete list of the players slated to attend.
