"I received my second offer from North Texas," said Lyon.
The rising junior has had a good summer and already held an offer from Charlotte.
"The summer has been going well," said the 5-foot-10, 165-pound Lyon. "We've done a couple of 7-on-7's and have been looking good."
Besides working out with his team, Lyon has also been to some camps.
"So far, I've to camps at Wake Forest, N.C. State and North Carolina," he said. "I have South Carolina's this week and Tennessee this Saturday.'"
"All the camps were good, but I liked N.C. State the most," he said. "I especially like (N.C.State cornerbacks coach) coach (Richard) McNutt."
With the season a little more than a month away, the Mallard Creek defensive back already has an idea of where he would like to go see games.
"I'm going to see UNC, N.C. State, Tennessee, UNC-Charlotte and South Carolina play this fall," Lyon said.
Lyon played both junior varsity and varsity football last season. On the junior varsity squad, he had eight interceptions, two punt returns for touchdowns, a kickoff return for a score, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He also had an interception for Mallard Creek's varsity team.
Mallard Creek opens their season on August 23 against Dillon (S.C.).
