Four-star linebacker Sharieff Rhaheed likes the way the Wolfpack is recruiting his home turf and that's one reason he is taking NC State seriously.
Richard McNutt is making an impression on the talented athlete and according to Rhaheed other recruits are taking notice as well.
"I've been talking to Coach McNutt and he's a cool guy. He's actually recruiting my area real good. They've got two 2013 guys committed and he's offered five people from my class. I know all of them. I knew the guys from last year but it's not like I really talked to them or anything. It's good to see them recruiting a lot of guys from down here."
McNutt is surely trying to convince Rhaheed to use one of his official visits to make it up to Raleigh but Rhaheed has not decided whether he will do that.
"I really haven't thought about that, but I'd be open to it if it's possible," he said.
The good news for the Pack is Rhaheed has not decided on any of his official visits so that's not a bad sign. He was able to visit Miami, Arkansas and Louisville this summer. Louisville already has a commitment from Rashawn Shaw, one of Rhaheed's current teammates and classmates.
That could make him more comfortable with the Cardinals especially since he's looking for a place that feels like home.
"That's the most important thing. I want it to feel like it's a home for me. I don't care how far away it is. My brother lives kind of far away and I think I could do it."
While Rhaheed does not have any favorites he said he is in constant contact with coaches from Louisville, Alabama and Arkansas. He is a former LSU commit but decommitted earlier this year.
