At the time of Godfrey's last public comments he said he planned to take two officials during the season and three after the year.
True to his word that's exactly how Godfrey has set it up and it could be good news for NC State if a good game day atmosphere influences his thinking.
"I have a visit scheduled for Wisconsin on October 12th and one pending for NC State on November 2nd. Those weeks we had rather easy games. Easier games I mean. It will be on that Saturday that I go up those weekends. I won't be going up on a Friday."
The Miramar (FL) safety might stay a little bit later through the weekend since he will not be arriving as early. His trips to Louisville, Syracuse and South Florida will take place after the season.
If Godfrey does make his trip to NC State that weekend he will have a chance to watch the rivalry game against North Carolina. Three weeks earlier he will be at Wisconsin to watch the Badgers take on Northwestern.
Godfrey has never been to NC State but he said it feels like he has because of his relationship with Richard McNutt.
"He's the most comfortable coach that I speak to out of all the coaches from everywhere that I talk to," said Godfrey. "He speaks to me about more than recruiting. Most coaches will be telling me about the school and how much they want me to come play.
"He speaks to me about family, how to be a man and things to look for in recruiting. He told me even if I don't choose NC State he'll be there to talk to me. He's told me they've got the same staff from NIU and the head coach that's coming in is all about business and turning the program around and getting it going in the right direction. Coach McNutt is a hard-working guy and that's the kind of coach I would do my best for."
Wisconsin also caught Godfrey's attention and there may be a reason he set up an in season trip to Madison.
"They're a good program with a lot of tradition and a winning tradition. They've had a lot of defensive backs that get drafted. Just the tradition and knowing I'll be able to get the next level probably."
Godfrey said he will not make a decision until he visits all five of the schools on his list.
