Three Earn Scholarships

Raleigh, NC - NC State head football coach Dave Doeren had a surprise for three Wolfpack walk-ons in last night's team meeting. In front of the entire team, he announced that Milton Hall, Jake Kahut and Josh Stanley have earned scholarships.

"These young men have shown great character on and off the field during our spring and summer programs," said Doeren, who rewarded 10 walk-ons with scholarships during his two seasons at Northern Illinois. "They have persevered through all the challenges that walk-ons have to deal with financially, but still took the time to make an impact off the field in the classroom and in the community."

Hall, a redshirt junior running back from Burlington, saw action in two contests last season, rushing seven times for 49 yards. A member of the team's Leadership Council, he has volunteered 14 hours of community service in 2013 and has posted a 2.98 GPA as a sociology major.

Kahut, a senior defensive tackle from Wake Forest, missed last season after suffering a knee injury, but played on both sides of the ball in 2011. He has tallied 16 hours of community service this year and posts a 3.28 GPA in his communication/public relations major. He is on track to graduate in December.

Stanley, a redshirt sophomore safety, played in all 13 games last season as a member of the special teams units. A business administration major, Stanley posts a 3.3 GPA and has worked 14 hours of community service since January.
