Jensen Beach (FL) linebacker Xavier Preston (6-2, 210 pounds) knows of three official visits he will be taking and he is pretty sure of a fourth.
No dates have been set, no games singled out. But Preston has a few schools in mind that he knows he wants to visit. Those visits will be the single biggest factor in Preston's decision so he plans to choose carefully.
He said that he is just now starting to look at the calendar and work out the details of visits with his family and the coaches that are recruiting him.
"I know I'll be taking an official to NC State. I'll go to West Virginia and Rutgers and then Louisville more than likely."
One reason he wants to take those visits is he has interest in those schools but wants to learn more.
That explains the NC State trip.
"I don't really know too much about NC State's program but I know they're doing some good things and they have a couple of guys from my area. I know Dravious Wright, Sean Paul and Travares Copeland up there. They're on the team now. I know all of them and I know them from the area but I wouldn't say I know them too personally or anything. I can tell they like the school," he said.
"Coach McNutt always tells me the truth. He's always honest with me and he's been telling me he wants me up there."
West Virginia and Rutgers are in good shape for a visit as well and his interest in those schools is strong.
"West Virginia has a couple of guys from this area that are close family friends. They went up there and have been successful and made it to the NFL.
"Rutgers was the first school to really recruit me. They've been on me since the end of last season and they always keep in contact with me. They've always been consistent with it."
