Bowman Makes Return Visit to NC State

Havelock (NC) junior wide receiver Michael Bowman talks about his recent visit to NC State.

Michael Bowman was in the stands as NC State kicked off the Dave Doeren era and he was impressed with the product he saw on the field.

The game pitting NC State against Louisiana Tech didn't have nearly as much drama as the Pack's more recent contest but what was lacking in fierce competition was made up for in the way Doeren's team executed. Then there's the fact that Bowman was able to see history, the start of a new era in Raleigh.

That's a big deal for someone that grew up following the Wolfpack.

"It was a good game. I enjoyed talking to the coaches. Coach Doeren and coach Kitchings mostly. They both seem like cool guys. The atmosphere was packed and it was a lot of fun."

Bowman watched the offense closely and thinks it would be a smooth transition.

"They're basically running the same offense we run down here. They want me for that outside receiver spot and I think it would be a real good fit for me. They're still high on my list."

He said he will be at the South Carolina-Clemson game in Columbia at the end of this season. He added that he plans to attend the NCSU-Clemson game as well.

Bowman isn't a man of many words but he does let his game do plenty of talking and he already has two state championships to his credit. This year is his run for a third and he's still only a junior so by the time he graduates there is no telling what his high school resume and accolades will look like.

NC State has always been near the top of Bowman's list but he confirmed that South Carolina has made a big move up his list since they offered him not long ago.
