"I called the coaches tonight," said Jones. "NC State was just a better fit and feel for me academically and socially. Football-wise I feel that you can make it no matter what school you are at, and I wanted to be at a school where I would be happy."
Jones was on campus for an unofficial visit this weekend when NC State hosted Central Michigan.
"It was everything I expected it to be and hoped it would be," said Jones. "I really liked it a lot. It was a great family atmosphere. Everybody was close. I met all the coaches and I met some of the coaches kids. The academic system is great and fits me. I'm a city boy so it's in the city and that actually helps them a lot."
Jones picked the Wolfpack over offers from Mississippi State, UConn, Michigan State, North Carolina, Ohio State, South Florida, Charlotte, and Wake Forest among others.
Jones is rated a three-star prospect and the No. 42 offensive guard in the nation by Scout.com. Pack Pride will have more on his commitment in the near future so stay tuned!
