McClendon Comfortable With the Pack

Four-star quarterback Jalan McClendon talks about a couple of recent visits to NC State.

Jalan McClendon has never felt more confident in his decision to attend NC State than he does right now.

The Pack's four-star quarterback commitment attended NC State's 48-14 win over Central Michigan as well as the game against Clemson just weeks ago. Now every time the West Mecklenburg quarterback steps foot in Carter-Finley Stadium he gets a special feeling even though he's not in uniform yet.

Students and fans recognize him and McClendon believes he has found the perfect fit.

"It gave me chills being there (at the CMU game) just knowing that it's home. It felt so great. I felt so comfortable being there and being committed up there.

McClendon has been welcomed with open arms by everyone around the football program and the coaches haven't slacked off in their communication with him even though he's committed. That's another reason he feels so good about his choice, he said.
Jacoby Brissett is one of the players McClendon will be competing with for the quarterback position upon arriving in Raleigh. While expectations will be a little lower for McClendon than Brissett right off the bat, the Pack's four-star quarterback commitment is anxious to try his hand against the rest of the roster at the position.

But it should be a friendly competition. McClendon said he spent time with Brissett and several other players and meshed with everyone well.

"Just seeing more of the offense I feel like it's going to be a good fit for me," McClendon said.
