RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State head coach Dave Doeren met with the media following the Pack's loss to North Carolina.

"It came down to mistakes for us - we made too many."

"There's just not much margin for error when you play like that on offense. We have to do a better job."

"I'm going to remember what they did on the 50-yard line for the next 364 days. I'm going to look forward to playing them next year."

"It's disappointing - anytime you lose a rivalry game its going to sting, its going to hurt and there's no excuses for it."

"He's forcing balls into coverage. I told him he couldn't throw - if its not there throw it away and he didn't so I took him out."

"It hurt. I think [the targeting] rule is a bad rule."

"The environment that our fans created, our student section, our band - I say thank you to them and stay with us. We're going to keep fighting."

"[The fake punt] - that's on me. I thought we had it and it didn't work."

"We'll talk about [the quarterback position] with our staff. I'm emotional right now. Probably not gonna say exactly how I feel."

"When you invest a lot and you get nothing back, you have to keep investing. That's the hardest part."

"If we just quit throwing the ball into coverage we'll be in games. We've thrown way too many interceptions this year."
