Pack Impresses Louis

NC State hosted Palm Beach Lakes (FL) wide receiver Stephen Louis on an official visit this weekend and he recaps how the trip went.

NC State gave Western Michigan commit Stephen Louis plenty to think about on his official visit over the weekend.

Louis went into his official visit to NC State open to the Wolfpack but unsure of what to expect. He had been hearing from the staff much earlier in the process before they seemed to back off and move in another direction. When they renewed their interest Louis quickly decided to make an official visit to find out what the school and the program were all about.

He was not disappointed.

"I definitely felt like the trip was really good. I got to see the facilities and meet the coaches face to face for the first time. Well I knew Coach McNutt already but I got to meet all the other coaches. It was a great experience."

Louis did not know much about NC State's rivalry with North Carolina since he's a native of West Palm Beach, FL. They have their own rivalries in those parts.

But he got a first taste of the intensity of that rivalry this weekend and the game was one of the memorable parts of his visit.

"The game was great. The student section was live and the place was packed. It was really packed. Everybody out there is real passionate about NC State," he said.

The trip didn't end after the game. In fact Louis did not return home until Monday so he had all of Saturday evening and all of Sunday to get to know more about the school.

Louis said that he connected well with the players and the coaches made sure that he had a good time and that all of his time was put to valuable use. The trip was informational and enjoyable.

"We did talk football for a while. They're looking for a guy that can run the ball as well as catch the ball. They want a receiver that can run jet sweeps and all that. That's kind of what I do right now so we both feel like I would be a good fit for that. I'm real interested in them right now. I was real interested before but the trip just made it more."

The Western Michigan commitment said he will take an official visit to UCF and maybe also Arkansas at the prodding of his parents who want to make sure he has all the information he needs to make an informed decision.
