Louis Commits!

NC State lands a commitment from Palm Beach Lakes (FL) wide receiver Stephen Louis.

There was no doubt that West Palm Beach (FL) Palm Beach Lakes WR Stephen Louis enjoyed his official visit to NC State a couple of weeks ago. He was close to pulling the trigger on a commitment to the Pack during his visit but decided to hold off after returning home and speaking to his parents.

Louis decided he could wait no longer and made the call to the NC State coaches earlier this evening.

"Yes sir, I just committed. It's really been a no-brainer since I've been back. I've just been feeling like it's the right spot. I've got family there already so it was a great situation for me. My mom's side of the family lives up there.

"I called coach Jackson and I told him and he gave it to coach Doeren and I talked to coach McNutt. They were real excited, real juiced up."

While the official visit to State was important in landing Louis, his relationship with CB coach Richard McNutt may have been the biggest factor in his decision.

"Coach McNutt, I've known him for a long time and he's one of the coaches I've known for the longest amount of time and he's been with me through thick and thin. I feel like he's real legit. He tells me how it's going to be and I know he's honest with me. I've pretty much had the best relationship with that coaching staff."

Now with his senior season over, Louis says he'll be focusing on the weight room and the classroom over the next several weeks as he plans to enroll at NC State in January.

"Our season is over so I'm just working out with my brothers and working on my school work so I can get my GPA up as high as I can get it."

Any chance that he may still try to work in any additional visits between now and then?

"The recruiting process is done. I know where I want to go."
