NC State Welcomes 2013 Hall of Fame Class

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State formally inducted the second class of the NC State Athletic Hall of Fame Friday evening in Reynolds Coliseum.

Those inducted were football coach Earle Edwards, men's basketball coach Norm Sloan, men's basketball players Tommy Burleson and Ronnie Shavlik, women's basketball player Andrea Stinson, baseball pitcher Mike Caldwell, football player Torry Holt, national championship distance runner Betty Springs Geiger, four-time All-American and former national champion swimmer Steve Gregg and national champion wrestler Sylvester Terkay.

Philip Rivers, the starting quarterback for the NFL's San Diego Chargers, was elected by the committee, but will defer until a later class when his schedule allows him to attend the induction.

Nominations for the Class of 2014 will be accepted through March 1, 2014. Nomination forms are available here. The date of the 2014 induction event will be determined following the announcement of the 2014 Football Schedule this spring.
