Caldwell, Johnson To Play In All-Star Games

RALEIGH, N.C. – A pair of graduating NC State seniors have committed to play in football all-star games in early 2014.

Defensive back Dontae Johnson will play in the Senior Bowl, while linebacker Robert Caldwell will play in The College All Star Bowl.

Johnson led the Pack with three interceptions this past season, and was second on the team with a career-best 82 tackles. He started the first five games at cornerback, but due to Pack injuries, he started the last seven games at safety. Over his last two seasons, Johnson started all 25 games in the Pack's secondary.

Caldwell was the Pack's leading tackler this past season, as his 105 tackles were the fifth-most in the ACC. He also tallied a team-high 15.5 tackles for loss in his first season as a starter, the 11th-most in a single season in the NC State record books.

The 2014 Senior Bowl will be held Jan. 25 in Mobile, Ala., televised on the NFL Network. The College All Star Bowl will be aired nationwide on the CBS Sports Network on Feb. 14 at Furman University's Paladin Stadium.
