Hill Enjoys One Final Visit

West Stanly (NC) defensive tackle B.J. Hill enjoyed one final visit to NC State before he enrolls in January.

Oakboro (NC) West Stanly standout B.J. Hill already has an impressive 6-4, 260-pound build and he has increased his strength over the last year. He could be ready to make an early impact in Raleigh.

That's at least what the coaching staff has to be hoping.

They have let it be known that they want Hill to be in the 270 pound range when he gets to campus, that way they can plug him into a weight program and continue to build him up from a good starting point.

"I'll probably play defensive tackle," he said.

He learned a bit more about that over the weekend on his official visit.

Hill arrived at NC State on Friday and had some time to interact with several other players already committed to the Pack. On Saturday, the official visit began in earnest.

"We ate breakfast with the coaches and everything and went to the basketball game for a little bit. Then back to the football stadium to take some pictures. We had a great time that night and then the next morning we ate breakfast and chilled with the coaches.

"We talked a little bit about football but they're really excited to get the Pack 14 commits in to the program and ready to play."

"I talked to all of the coaches probably about the same but Coach Nielsen is my defensive line coach and I talked to him and Coach Doeren a lot too. All of them were great."

Hill said he connected very well with both the coaches and several current members of the Wolfpack and it didn't take long to figure out that he was on the same page as the rest of the players already in Raleigh.

"We all love football. I love football and they love football so we got along pretty good. I can't wait to get up there."

Hill said West Stanly's season this year was better than last year's campaign but it didn't show in their record. Hill spent the majority of his senior year playing defensive end and running back when the offense took the field.
