Visit to Raleigh Looming For Preston

Jensen Beach (FL) linebacker Xavier Preston, a West Virginia commitment, has a visit scheduled to NC State.

Starting on the weekend of January 17 the race to the finish begins for Xavier Preston.
Preston will take official visits to UCF (January 17) and NC State (January 24) before making his college decision sometime after that last trip and sometime before signing day. He has already taken official visits to West Virginia and Iowa State with those two schools setting the bar high.
"I enjoyed myself up at West Virginia. I really like it there. It was pretty fun. I got to meet everyone and actually go to a game. So I got to see their game day routine and how the players act."
Iowa State's atmosphere was a little different but also in a good way. Preston said it wasn't what he expected before his plane touched down in Iowa.
"Iowa State was pretty fun. I had never been to that side of the country before. It was nothing like I expected. It was very upbeat. The people around there were great. I met a lot of great people. The school was phenomenal."
Preston doesn't seem too peculiar when it comes to choosing a school. He doesn't seem like the type that's going to put everything down on paper and make a complicated decision. That's because what he wants is very simple.
"I just want to have a great football career. That's what I'm looking for in an institution. I'm just looking for a good situation where football will be a focus for everyone."
Preston admits he doesn't know a lot about the NC State football program but he's hoping to change all that when he makes the trip to Raleigh later in the month.
"As far as the school history I don't know much. I know a couple of players that signed up there from the 2013 commitment class that aren't too far from where I'm from. Since I know players up there if I had any questions I could talk to them or Coach McNutt.
"Coach McNutt is a cool dude. He's very funny. I talk to him and Coach Huxtable a lot. He's my position coach and I believe he's also the d-coordinator there."
Preston is listed as a West Virginia commitment but will make a final decision once he's completed his official visits.
