McKinney With One Visit Left

Quincy McKinney updates Pack Pride on his recruitment with one week to go until signing day.

Three schools are still in play with OL Quincy McKinney and he has one official visit left on his slate. McKinney will take that visit to Louisville this weekend and then he should be just about ready to make a final decision.
Bobby Petrino didn't have the luxury of a lot of time to put together his first recruiting class at Louisville, in this his second go-round at the school. But he has McKinney's attention.
"I know that Coach Petrino is one of the more successful coaches in the country and that is something I will consider. I know last year Louisville was one of the better teams in the country losing just one game I believe. And the fact that I could come in the mix and contribute to the team that's possibly close to contention for a national championship is big."
East Carolina is also on McKinney's mind but NC State has a different relationship with him than any other school. McKinney was at State before he went off to Hutchinson C.C., and he's considering a return.
"I just see a new energy there about the whole team and the coaches. Everybody seems to be a big happy family. I just see a positive energy from the staff in Raleigh. I was with that staff in the spring so I was familiar with them already. Of course I talk to Coach Uremovich my position coach and also my recruiter. Since I've been at Hutchinson me and him have been having continuous conversations."
McKinney's decision could be as simple as choosing whether he wants something new and different or something familiar and comfortable.
"I see both ways. It could be a positive for me either way. It's how I make it," said McKinney. "Going back to Raleigh I would know where everything is. It wouldn't take no time for me to get back to how it was. But going somewhere new can also be a positive because you get a new outlook on where you're at. It could be a fresh start to everything."
