Recruiting Scene: Holden visited NC State over his spring break but it wasn't until a couple of weeks later that he landed an offer from the Pack. Even prior to the offer, Holden made it clear that NC State was a team that had moved to the front of his favorite's list.
Along the way Holden would add offers from Boston College, Iowa, Virginia and Wake Forest among others. However, it was NC State and Iowa that occupied the top spots for his commitment.
On June 24th, Holden would become the third of three defensive linemen to commit to State that day. He would remain solid to the Pack throughout the recruiting process.
Why NC State? "I had been there before when the team was actually practicing and I had a chance to see the coaches coach and I just loved the way they coached.
"Then, the second time I came was during camp and met some of the guys that are already committed to the school. It was pretty cool meeting them and it had that family aspect to it. I felt like I could get along with them for the next four years."
Picked NC State Over: Iowa
Scouting Report: Holden will likely need a year to redshirt, but he has the tools to be a terrific pass-rusher. Quick twitch with long arms and good feet, he's really explosive off the edge.
