Hometown: Wilson (NC)

Projected Position At NC State: Safety

Accolades: Wright finished his senior season with 1,445 yards on 203 carries and 21 touchdowns. He helped lead Hunt to a 11-4 record and the regional championship game.

Commit Date: June 20, 2013

Recruiting Scene: Wright, who openly admits that he grew up a big North Carolina basketball fan, actually received an offer from the Tar Heels before the Wolfpack and was on UNC's campus for Larry Fedora's "Freak Show."

However, that didn't prevent him from choosing to go where he ultimately felt the most comfortable: NC State.

"It was a difficult decision," said Wright. "I was a fan of [North] Carolina, but I've been thinking that I needed to go where I felt the happiest, the most comfortable, and where I can have the most success.

"I wanted to go where it was family-oriented and a great environment. I'm not saying that wasn't it with UNC's coaches, but I felt more at home with the NC State coaches."

Why NC State? "It's just fun hanging around all the coaches. They are creative and have a lot of energy and are out there just having fun."

Picked NC State Over:
East Carolina and North Carolina

Scouting Report: Wright might be pound-for-pound the best athlete in the state of North Carolina, as the 6-foot-3, 205-pounder has been timed at 4.4 in the 40-yard dash. With a frame that can add weight, Wright could play safety or linebacker for the Wolfpack.
