High School: Baltimore (MD) Gilman School
NOTES: Troy Vincent Jr., the son of the former Wisconsin All-American and 15-year NFL cornerback Troy Vincent, was rated a four-star prospect after having a prolific career at Baltimore (MD) Gilman School, where he helped lead them to a 7-3 record as a senior.
Vincent, who originally committed to Penn State before flipping to NC State, picked the Pack mainly because of his relationship with head coach Dave Doeren.
"I have known Coach Doeren since I have been in seventh grade," Vincent said. "I feel comfortable with him, and everyone I have talked to that has played under him or worked with him, everyone, just says that he is consistent, that he is a straight shooter, that he is an honest guy, that you can trust him, and that he is fair.
"Playing for a coach with those qualities, that is every player's dream coach. Someone that you trust and that is fair."
"Troy is very technical," said Doeren. "He's been backpedaling since he was three years old. He's very polished. He has a lot to learn, everybody does, but he's a very polished player. He's very business-like competitor.
"He'll come in ready to play. Obviously, he has to earn a job like everybody, but I know that competitively and fundamentally, he will be a guy that's very serious early on."
