Pack Working to Land Visit From Bilal

NC State is working hard to land a visit from four-star linebacker Asmar Bilal. Pack Pride has the latest on his recruitment.

NC State and Asmar Bilal (6-3, 195 pounds) are in daily contact and Eddie Faulker is making an impact on the Indianapolis linebacker.

Indiana is a state the Wolfpack has started to target more since Dave Doeren came in from that part of the country. It's not always an easy sell since players like Bilal are more used to Big Ten football.

"I don't think that really matters to me but I don't want to go too far," Bilal said on the location point.

More important than location is his relationship with the coaches he's getting to know. Faulker has been in daily contact with Bilal over the internet.

He's the coach that let Bilal know he has an offer from NC State.

"Actually when he called and offered me we had just been talking about me coming down for a visit on Twitter. I haven't done much research really but I plan to. I may visit. I might be able to but I'm not sure yet."

The 4-star prospect is up to ten offers but the only schools he has been to are Indiana and Michigan. The Hoosiers are able to tell Bilal he could be a home state hero by staying close to home.

"Indiana was a good school. The atmosphere was nice. Down there it was very family oriented. It's definitely a good school."

But when it comes to Big Ten programs Indiana and Michigan could not be much more different. One is an aspiring program without much historical success and the other is one of college football's most recognizable programs.

"Michigan was cool. It had great tradition down there. The coaches were nice and cordial. I don't know. It was just cool overall."

Bilal would like to visit NCSU but he has actually planned visits to Notre Dame and Iowa. He will make those visits with his coach from Ben Davis.
