Megginson Plans April Visit to NC State

4-star offensive lineman Gabe Megginson plans to visit NC State in April as part of an extended recruiting road tour.

The start of April will be a busy time for Jacksonville (IL) offensive lineman Gabe Megginson.
Megginson is one of the Midwest's top offensive line recruits and he has schools from every conference trying to convince him to visit. There will be plenty of time for all of that. The spring, summer, fall and winter each have their own distinct recruiting periods. Megginson won't be wasting any time.
From April 1-5 he will be on the road visiting several of the schools with coaches in the most contact with him. He will start at Ohio State on April 1 and the following day he will visit Penn State. The next day he drives south to NC State and either April 4 or 5 he will travel to Louisville before wrapping that road trip up.
Given Dave Doeren's history at Northern Illinois it's not a surprise that the Wolfpack is recruiting Megginson.
"Coach Uremovich is the guy I always talked to but I do talk to Coach Doeren every now and then. They weren't really recruiting me at (at NIU) since I was a sophomore. I think my coaches told me about them when I was a sophomore. They were telling me how great they are as coaches. He told me they moved to NC State. I actually did get to talk to them my sophomore year and we've been talking for a long time now."
Megginson said that April 3 visit will be about touring the school, meeting the coaches, and watching the practice to see how they run things. He said that he's been doing his own research on the school and he enjoys what the coaches have told him too.
The 4-star offensive lineman visited a lot of schools last football season and since then he has been to Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois and Indiana. He hasn't slowed down and doesn't seem to want to.
"I want to narrow things down with my family and myself but that's just going to come along with seeing these places and finding out what I really enjoy. I'll just find out more as we go on. They all definitely have their pros and they're all very different from each other in good ways."
