"I committed to the NC State coaches," said Walton. "Basically, NC State is a perfect fit for me with my education, it's close to home, and there's already guys from my school going there.
"It was really just common sense for me to make my decision now."
A 6-foot-7, 260-pound tackle, Walton was a competitive swimmer who gave up the sport to pursue football. He is an unknown right now, but had picked up offers from NC State and Marshall and was planning on camping at several schools this spring and summer.
Walton is the latest prospect to pick NC State out of Charlotte (NC) Christian. Bo Hines, Garrett Bradbury, and Ty Linton all signed with the Wolfpack in the 2014 recruiting class, and NC State is also pursuing 2015 center Brian Chaffin and 2016 standouts Austin Kendall and Elijah Deveaux.
Walton is NC State's second commitment in the 2015 recruiting class, joining South Brunswick (NC) athlete Malik Douglas.
Pack Pride will have more on Walton's commitment in the near future so stay tuned!
