NOTES: Austin King really emerged this spring after raising his stock with strong performances at the Elite 11 quarterback combines. He burst on the scene at the initial workout in Atlanta.

"Consistency was what King was Sunday," said Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons. "He was the sharpest of the quarterbacks in terms of accuracy and he threw a very catchable ball all afternoon.

"Not an elite arm, but he throws on time and in the right spot for the wideout to make a play on the ball. He threw the best deep balls all day."

"No one knew who I was when I got there," said King. "That camp in Atlanta... at the time, all I had was smaller offers. Other kids there got to see me too. They could see that I'm pretty good."

King went on to participate in the Columbus Elite 11 and nearly made the cut for the final competition.

"I finished in the top 20 but not the top 10," he added. "I was two spots away."

King's play eventually earned him offers from West Virginia, Central Florida, South Florida, and NC State among others. As a junior, he totaled 2,400 yards passing and 22 touchdowns.

"I'm good at reading defenses, and I can make any throw on the field," he said. "I feel like I can compete with any kid out there. I can learn the offense, and my work ethic is strong too."
