Love Looking At Four

Four schools have emerged in the recruitment of Wake Forest (NC) tailback Bryce Love.

Wake Forest (NC) tailback Bryce Love participated in the Shrine Bowl invite-only workout in hopes of earning a spot on North Carolina's roster.

"It was good," he said. "There was a lot of good competition. I really wanted to come out and experience it... compete for an opportunity to get in Shrine Bowl.

"I felt like I had a god day. There were some things I have to work on like setting up in the backfield... coming from a Wing-T offense. I have to work on a lot for the next level."

What would it mean to Love if he made the Shrine Bowl?

"It would be a blessing," he said. "Being able to represent your state and compete with South Carolina, it would be a real good opportunity. My uncle played in it a long time ago, so it would be cool to do the same."

During his junior season, Love averaged nearly 11 yards per carry and rushed for 1,973 yards and 26 touchdowns to lead Wake Forest to a state title appearance. His play has led to several scholarship offers, and four schools have emerged according to Love: Stanford, NC State, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

NC State has hosted Love multiple times this summer, and he speaks highly of the Wolfpack.

"The opportunity is there to have an early impact on the team," said Love. "They have the major I want to go into, and the coaching staff, they will bring their families around you... they are real cool people, real genuine.

"Coach Kitchings knows what he's talking about in the meetings, and coach Doeren is running a well-oiled machine. He's changing the whole program from what it was. When I first met him he told me it was going to change and he definitely is. It's a real good place over there."

A four-star recruit, Love is currently rated the No. 40 tailback in the country by He says that he doesn't have a leader and is focusing even more on his recruitment.

"I'll probably narrow the list down in the middle of July for sure and get the final list out," he said. "I'll set it up with the school and commit in the auditorium."
