"It was fun to be back on the field. I was really excited."

"The rain held off and the guys were able to get out there and do some things. You could see some great retention from the spring and the summer."

"Good leadership... it's just fun to be back out there coaching the players."

"You kind of want to see where you're at. We're not in pads so we're not hitting. You can't get that side of it, but you want to see how far away you are. Do they know what they are doing?"

"I thought the guys came out with great attitude. I was excited by the leadership that some of the older guys showed."

"They better be. That's what we're here to do, get better. If we're not competing with passion we're going to have a problem."

"The first two days are helmets only and then we go to half-pads in three and four and from five on its all pads."

"We'll have two full scrimmages before we get to game one."

"It's just fun to see the depth, [the offensive line] has pretty good depth right now."

"I want to see these competitions. We have some serious competitions at various positions."

"You build the chemistry of your team during two-a-days."

"It's all football [right now]. You want to see that retention and competition."

"Having that ability to create a competitive atmosphere... putting them in a position where they can fight for playing time is very helpful."

"Experience breeds that... you guys are going to be a little tentative, but the more they play and the more reps they get the better that is."

"We had 105 players out here today. There are a few injured guys and a few guys we hope to get back over the course of the next two weeks."

"[Gavin Locklear] broke his tibia and fibula. It was a clean break, great repair. He'll be back full speed whenever it heals. There was no ligament or nerve [damage]."
